Welcome to the journal - Pray With Me This Week

This is where the Scripture behind the songs meets the world we are living in. Six days a week, I'll take one story from the news, sometimes from the wider world and sometimes from the church, and bring it to God. I'll share a verse, a short prayer, and one thing we can do about it.

I don't write about a God who keeps us from trouble. I write about the One who meets us in it. Most days the headlines can feel too heavy to carry alone, so let's carry them together, in prayer first and then in action.

Each week you'll find a prayer you can add to your own prayer journal, whether that's a notebook, a phone note, or the back of a bulletin. Pray it as written or make it your own.

Lord, you see every headline and every face behind it. Make our hearts soft toward the hurting and our hands ready to help. Teach us to pray before we scroll, and to act after we pray. Amen.

One thing to do: Choose one person or place on your heart this week. Pray for them by name each morning, then reach out to them or give to someone who serves them.
