Behind the Scenes of "Mel’s Mayhem" Music Creation
Life is my greatest muse. Each song I write tells a story inspired by real-life moments—stress, struggles, joys, and those unexpected experiences that we all face. Take my song "Patience Jack" as an example. It was born out of pure frustration after waiting over 15 minutes for two drinks at Sonic! The phrase “Patience, Jack,” a piece of advice my friend Avonelle always gave me, popped into my head, and before I knew it, I had the foundation for a song.
But inspiration is just the beginning of the journey. Here’s how I turn those sparks of life into music you can enjoy:
- Crafting the Story
I want my songs to feel real and relatable, so I start by weaving my experiences into stories. Whether it’s a lighthearted moment or a deep, emotional struggle, I aim to create music that connects with listeners on a personal level. - Using AI as a Creative Partner
Technology plays a big role in my process. I use AI tools to assist in writing lyrics, composing music, and even creating the vocals. It’s like having a collaborative partner who brings my ideas to life. - Polishing the Sound in Audacity
Once the music and vocals are ready, I dive into Audacity, where the magic happens:- I separate the music from the vocals to fine-tune each element.
- Using a plugin called Pitch Perfect, I add harmonies and adjust the pitch for that perfect blend.
- Finally, I normalize the volume and experiment with sound effects to make the track unique.
- Bringing the Music to Life with CapCut
For the visuals, I turn to CapCut to create music videos. I mix AI-generated images with digital assets from specialized websites, ensuring every video complements the story in the song. - Sharing with the World
Once everything is polished, I upload the final product to YouTube, hoping my music resonates with someone and makes them laugh, cry, or feel understood.
